I've been interested in history for a very long time. My interest goes back at least to the mid-1990s when I was in elementary school and first learned about ancient civilizations. A year or two later, I became interested in the American Civil War after reading a book about it, and I've remained interested in that conflict ever since. When I went to college, I took numerous history classes and ended up getting a bachelor's degree in history. I mostly focused on American history (in particular the American Civil War, which remains my favorite period to study), but I also took classes on Chinese, European, and Middle Eastern history.
